An Autumnal Wedding at The Old Mill Aldermaston
Chantelle and Rory tied the knot at the always-stunning The Old Mill Aldermaston, a beautiful Reading wedding venue that feels especially magical in autumn. The day began with clouds and rain, but ended with the most beautiful golden hour that we made sure to sneak out and enjoy. It was filled with rich autumnal colours, good music, and all their favourite people gathered together to celebrate — exactly how a wedding day should be.
Getting Ready at The Old Mill Aldermaston
Chantelle got ready at The Old Mill, and I joined her for the final moments of her morning before heading to the ceremony. There was excitement in the air as I arrived, and it wasn’t long before she was stepping into her dress — and wow, she looked incredible. We captured a few quick portraits before a first look with her bridesmaids, whose reactions were absolutely priceless.
A Beautiful Conservatory Ceremony
Their ceremony took place inside the conservatory at The Old Mill, where Rory waited as Chantelle made her way down the aisle with her dad. It was such a beautiful setting for an autumn wedding, with soft natural light filling the space. During the ceremony, Chantelle’s brother shared a heartfelt reading, and in a very real and very “them” moment, Rory accidentally put on his own ring — a funny, genuine moment that made everyone smile.
Confetti Outside The Old Mill
After the ceremony, it was time for confetti — and luckily the rain had cleared just in time for us to step outside. Confetti is always one of my favourite moments to capture during a wedding, and this one didn’t disappoint. Joyful, colourful, and beautifully chaotic
Autumn Portraits Around The Old Mill Grounds
Guests enjoyed drinks on the patio at The Old Mill Aldermaston, making the most of the autumn air. There were endless smiles and hugs to capture. During the drinks reception, we snuck away for family portraits and bridal party photos. The Old Mill in autumn creates such a stunning backdrop, with warm tones and seasonal colours adding so much depth to the images.
A Cosy Reception Inside The Old Mill
The vibe throughout the entire day was 10/10 — it genuinely felt like I was photographing a friend’s wedding. After dinner, it was time for speeches, and Chantelle and Rory chose to share one together — something you don’t see often, but they absolutely nailed it. The room was filled with laughter and happy tears, and it felt so cosy nestled inside The Old Mill — perfect for an autumn wedding in Berkshire.
Golden Hour at The Old Mill Aldermaston
As the evening drew in, the sun decided to make a surprise appearance. We quickly headed out to catch the last moments of golden hour, and it was worth every second. The light filtered through the trees, wrapping Chantelle and Rory in the most beautiful autumn glow.
Evening Dancing and Autumn Celebrations
Then it was time to dance. Their first dance was such a joy to capture and quickly filled the dance floor, with family and friends bringing the best energy and moves. Their friend DJ’d so the music was exactly how they liked it, a perfect start to an evening of dancing and great music. It was such a fun day to be part of, and The Old Mill Aldermaston wedding venue was the perfect setting from start to finish.
I’m grateful every day that I get to capture such amazing weddings. Thank you, Chantelle and Rory, for trusting me to photograph your day — it was truly an honour.
